I would like to Thank Publix.com from the great info they shared with us today in preparation of Hurricane Matthew.....please see below and start taking/making precautions NOW!! Don't wait!!
Some more excellent things to consider since we likely will Not have power for 1 or more days, is to make sure your gas tanks are full in your cars, and since ATM's won't be working... it wouldn't hurt to take some cash out of the bank..

Take a look at this Checklist as well!!
I will be keeping everyone posted throughout the duration of the storm on this blog… To help let people know what we are experiencing, any road closures I'm aware of.... but make sure that you have a weather radio handy… A solar charger for your phone… Or access to listen to the news somehow. Stay safe! And if you need to take shelter somewhere other than your home use the information below, to find a storm shelter near you.... http://www.floridadisaster.org/shelters/
ps. Just as a friendly reminder if you are unable to board up your windows in time… Use packing tape to make large exes from corner to corner, across your windows to help strengthen them during Highwind activity. When the glass starts to bend or bow the tape will help prevent and support the glass. Make sure you take shelter on the main level of your home… And lock all doors and windows to make sure they do not blow open. This could cause a pressure vortex in your home which could blow out other windows if one opens and the force of the wind has nowhere to escape.
